He can try making steps to improve his situation, sure, but its undeniable that he has a shitty starting point which has informed his outlook on life thus far and there's not a lot he can do about it. To me, the best possible outcome for him would've been if he continued on the somewhat upward trajectory after getting his first apartment with a trucking job and focused on making music (even if it's shit) and videos rather than trying to befriend the normies he already knows are going to treat him terribly
