Iran wanted sovereignty and wanted your Jews to go back, so the USA basically said to all of its trading partners that you're not allowed to trade with Iran. This means there hasn't been hardly a penny of trade between Iran and like half the world, which means no investments, limited technology, and generally little money flowing in. The oil Iran has can't be bought by half the world so it's forced to sell it to China at a massive discount.

The actual history of why the USA put the sanctions on Iran is much more complex. The sovereignty and Jews analogy is extremely oversimplified
There's a lot of factors but the very first one is that in 1953 Iran democratically elected a leader who wanted to nationalize the oil industry which previously was operated by the Anglo-Persian oil company (now called British Petroleum) because Iran was only receiving 16% of the money that it's oil produced. The UK and US (greedy whites) obviously wanted to keep the oil so they staged a coup in Iran to bring down this leader and replace him with a pro-western cuck
This is just one example of grievances which echoed in the 1979 revolution which ended in the US making Iran the 2nd most sanctioned country on earth after Russia, which has a generally bigger economy that can slightly better withstand it, but obviously their economy is not booming
