1. You died really easily
2. The game intimidated people with its intro
3. Its too hard to figure out about the lore without having watched a youtube video
Everyone who loved to say its sooooo good only watched videos about it exactly because its too hard to get into. Its down right retro-slop
Fallout 1 2 fall into the same exact criteria

Im glad that Bethesda got the rights to series they improved it and made it enjoyable. Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 are the gems with great graphics and amazing physics engines. The online play in 76 allows you to share your experience with friends, game like fallout new vegas had the opportunity to implement it into their game, but they didnt implement it thats why it cannot compare to 76.
Lets also not forget that the old fallout games are univerisally loved by trans people and could be considered trans games

the biggest issue is how their is no uniqueness to it. its the same art style for fo4 and fo76. and the story is shit also. despite being in the same engine and borderline the same game on a technical level fo3 and fonv are very easy to tell the differences between the two

FO1 was pretty good.
FO2 was too long and dragged on for a while.
FO3 was just boring.
FONV was fun, liked the story and some of the crafting mechanics.
FO4 was only saved by it's good gunplay.
