I'm in my first year of med school and from what I heard it's because doctors lose their passion and only get used to treating sore throats or diabetes and other shit. The mass suffering of hospitals also really stunt their moral compass, too.

It's mostly because they're overworked and because people have a very annoying tendency to overcomplain about problems that dont exist. When 99% of the time someone saying they're dying aren't, that unevitably makes doctors doubt whenever someone who actually IS dying come in.

this and also because of just how demanding medicine really is, first you have to study upwards of 20 hours per day just to even get into med school and take out hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans
after that, you have to study for 18 hours a day in med school before you have to do 80 hour residency shifts whilst paying off the interest of medical school loans
finally, after you complete your residency and get your medical license you can now rest after spending so much of your time just studying and working
