Their atheism is either American culture-based Reddit atheism or rooted in European postmodern philosophies. Those that went neo-pagan or spiritual to "spite the sky daddy" are talking about Western folklore, witchcraft, and crystals. These people can't even be bothered to adopt local indigenous animism and mysticism. Sounds like neo-colonialism to me.

Interestingly, very few of them would even be remotely into Islam, Buddhism, or Hinduism. Idk but if your goal is to wholesale reject Western culture and fully embrace the East, it is logical to get into at least one of the three. Makes it seem like they're just being rebellious because their parents made them go to mass or something
