my main gripe with catholicism (besides it unintentionally worshipping yahweh which to be fair is what 99.99% of christians do and isn't intentional like with islam/judaism/satanism) is how stuck they are on organized religion and having everything be validated by their church. the point of christianity is, as an individual, guiding yourself on a journey to become closer with and eventually reunite with God, not just do whatever the worldly church says. however, i respect catholicism's stances on social issues and they are often right about a lot of things that christians who are too afraid to stand up against progressive values don't want to admit are right
