This caused nonviolence amongst all three major indigenous Indian religions (Jains, Buddhists, Hindus) and hence Hindus started worshipping cow dung. As to why Jains and Buddhists dont, I believe systems that dont explicitly worship the Hindu system of gods (and hence never adopted the reverence of dung) likely split off and formed the two. Second explanation is that they didn't really ever have to view cows as an inferior animal or resource since the hard reality of war never hit, so naturally it lead to this religious faggotry. I don't really have the best explanations of Jains and Buddhists and other religions from here not adopting these practices other than just them inherently being an ascetic belief system that split off from the core values of Hinduism early on and hence evolved without the reverence to cow dung
