Under Karl Poppers definition the afd would not fall under it, as he said it is for those that abandon arguments and debates for violence, oppression. You have to demonstrate that they are violent.
Left wing parties like the spd, greens and linke would fall more under Poppers criteria than the afd because they have sympathies for antifa, and antifa does use violence to surpress debates.
