Snopes:
>can you rent guns in america +11 Yes, you can rent guns at licensed shooting ranges across the United States for on-site use.How Gun Rentals WorkOn-Site Only: You cannot rent a firearm to take off the premises or home. Rentals must be used strictly inside the shooting range.Ammunition Rules: Ranges almost always require you to buy their specific ammunition to use in rental guns. Outside ammunition is prohibited.Safety Rules: Many ranges require a government-issued photo ID (like a driver's license or passport) and a liability waiver. The "Alone" Rule: To prevent self-harm, many ranges have a policy that single visitors without their own firearm cannot rent a gun unless they bring a companion or an instructor

>>3947787Human life is about more than just fulfilling your most basic needs. If you were an animal (or are cognitively similar to an animal) then sure, it might be a valid point, but if you don't enjoy the majority of your waking life, and the amount of stressors and negative variables outweigh what is positive or neutral, then it makes sense to view life as not worth living. Saying "you have no right to complain because your great grandfather worked 18 hours in the mines" doesn't mean anything because suffering in this sense is generally relative and just because he decided to put up with dogshit living conditions doesn't mean I should put up with mine, even if they're obviously less bad by comparison

>>3947796You can have friends and be lonely, it's about not having a real connection. Maybe it's odd from your perspective.

Personally I see killing myself as a good thing (not that I will do it, unfortunately I can't) because I generally do not enjoy most things. I try to enjoy art, cinema and games, but most of the time I just can't glean any pleasure from it. Even if I can understand what's going on on a surface level and on a deeper level, I rarely experience any real connection to it. It just feels like glorified flashing pictures to me. The same is true of most "hobbies", because I don't enjoy them at all. I force myself to do something I don't enjoy with the hopes I might enjoy it, but I never do. If this is supposed to occupy my "free time", what I'm meant to enjoy and take pleasure in, and what is meant to counterbalance what I don't want to do (working), then why should I live if being alive just means oscillating between boredom, fear and loathing? I would rather not exist than have to exist because I gain nothing valuable from existing. I know le utilitarian ethics are flawed but it's the simplest way to convey how I feel without getting very pessimistic or nitty gritty or writing a big wall of text.

One of the reasons I wager that most people don't kill themselves is because their religion forbids it or because they don't want to ruin the lives of their family members. It sort of reminds me of escaping North Korea, if you leave then the government purportedly sends your entire family to prison, so people are incentivized to stay because they don't want to cause their family harm. In this case, life itself is like the totalitarian regime preventing you from voluntarily escaping otherwise you'll destroy the lives of your family and shiet. I love my parents, they're good people, but I honestly wish they just chose to not reproduce.
