They are two distinct theories describing different things. QM (quantum mechanics) is used for predicting microscopic events, how tiny particles behave etc. Whereas Einsteins theories of relativity are concerned with the big things, like large velocities, big masses, huge energies etc.
The problem we have in modern physics is that these theories are incompatible. I can give you a little break down if you want:
In the 1930s we had Quantum Mechanics, Special Relativity and General Relativity making up all of modern physics. Quantum Mechanics arised due to the strange behaviour we observed of electrons in the atom and the strange rules and light emission spectra of heated objects.
Special relativity on the other hand was trying to fix the fact that we observed that light had the same velocity wether we measured while not moving or in a really really fast train, imagine like if you are standing a plane is really fast, but if you fly next to the plane it is from your point of view very slow. Light didnt behave like the plane which was very strange, thus we needed special relativity.
General Relativity, eventhough its name is related to special relativity, also did something completely different. Trying to fix Newtons Gravity, which predicted something different than what was observed about Mercury (the planet).
Only in the 1960s (long after Einstein), we asked seriously what would happen, if particles also went fast and if they experienced the same relativistic effect, it turns out this is really hard. Since when a particle is not observed it is in a superposition having more than one position and velocity, but it was possible QM and SR (special relativity) were united under Quantum Field Theory (QFT).
Now there is just QFT and GR (general relativity), but no progress has been made to unite the two. Living some very weird paradoxes unanswered.

Relativity is almost a complete poison pill.
