Russias geography dooms it to invasions from many sides, poles,swedes,turks,napoleon,hitler. The war scarred and send loads of men to deal with foreign imvaders attitude will still exist
Under constant invasion, winters that make famine more probable and food scarce, a collective desire for stability by a strong ruler will still exist
Orthodox christianity and its nature pushing towards conservatism and traditions will still exist
Expansion into siberia will still exist cuz geographic destiny to dominate siberia and be a vast country
But medieval mongol rule is very overstated, taking tribute was the only thing i guess.
Ironically russia heavily influenced mongolia, even more than mongolia inflenced russia so modern mongolia would be very different without our historys russia

id be more decentralized politicaly, more west focused, id probably stay very autocratic and religious

Passing on free land, free power and free money is unlikely though. Siberia was just sitting there, im ethinically buryat, one of the siberian peoples, and russian conquest and joining the imperial project was the history defining thing for my people. So in this althist scenario i want it to happen instead of chinks or nipples conquering siberia absent of russia

without the fear of the east there would be no civilizational incentive to try as hard as they did
they would still expand and colonize sure, but i see way more likely independent kingdoms surging with russian influence
or it all being taken by turko-mongols
