Lua is lighter, and easily embedded in game engines which suppost user generated contect (i.e. roblox, world of warcraft)

Python on the other hand has friendly syntax and simplicity as principle. Algorithms are easily implemented and understood.

Every programmer must write a simple interpreter "language" at least once. Something like forth (a stack machine that keeps track of values and operators passed via the reverse polish notation) or at least brainfuck. It's easy actually, and I did this not once and not twice.
