Oh yeah! I played as King Matthias, when I was playing Civ VI on vacation, and I almost got my first win on Deity! The stupid Congolese bitch, Stole the victory from me through Religious Victory, evendoe she only had like 3 cities left, because I buckbroke her empire so bad! All the cities I captured on her continent were converted to Buddhism, while all the cities on my continent were coverted to my religion, but me capturing all the cities on her continent caused the total amount of Buddhist cities in my empire to outnumber the non-Buddhist ones, leading to my Civ being converted to her Religion, making me loose the game. I never got so far, with any of the other leaders. So, theres that, in addition to my enjoyable vacation.

Hungarian history is pretty interesting, especially learning how Magyars decided to migrate from western Siberia to Europe by encountering nomads and learning how to ride horses in the steppes. The fact that they managed to settle in the Pannonian Basin, which in itself was a battleground between many nomadic clans, Franks and Slavs, and then for some reason managing to assimiliate everyone there to speak Hungarian is also fascinating. I heard that Magyars from the Pannonian Basin traveled to southern Ukraine to tell other Magyars of the Pannonian Basin and they all understood each other despite hundreds of years of isolation. For some reason, the Hungarian language is in the same language family as Finnish; also Mansi and Khanty eerily have similiar words to Hungarian, and that was thousands of years and miles of isolation.

>>3909158Thanks I like the aesthetics of the flag too, the Kingdom of Hungary flag is my favorite
>>3909163Geg europe gave us a funny name indeed and it also references the huns, interesting thing to mention is that iranic, turkic and neighboring european languages call us magyars or some variation of it instead of hungarians

>>3909194I have been multiple times to Kosice and Bratislava (or Kassa and Pozsony as we call it) and those are nice, the small villages I have been to were populated by gypsies, though not surprising since the border areas have the most of them

Budapest looks pretty
โ3909244[Quote]
>>3909230Ive actually only been to kosice a few times but bratislava is all right if you like historical buildings.
I've noticed that usually the more east you go the more gypsies there are but I assume it's also in other parts.
Maybe because I haven't been much around south
โ3909331[Quote]
>>3909227Yeah I also like my history a lot but it's not surprising that it generates a lot of debates and arguments. An interesting thing to mention is that the bows and arrows the magyars made were really high quality for the time and are still decent for modern standards, also that such a large scale migration required the use of an organized state action which indicates that despite being nomadic, magyar society was a developed one.
Overall I think nomadic societies were underestimated and thought of as simple barbarians when they had large and somewhat advanced civilizations, too.
>>3909244You are 100% correct, most gypsies concentrate near the eastern part of the country, the austrians resettled gypsies in places where ethnicities clashed/bordered eachother that's why most gypsies concentrate near bordering villages and places like the southern part of szekelyland
