For example the Early Christians didnt even defend themselves, they followed the doctrine of "turn the other cheek" so if someone attacked them they just wouldnt fight back. Obviously after Constantine converted this changed, but Jesus taught this radical pacifism that was practiced by the Early Christians. I think that this teaching only makes people weak, I think people should defend themselves.
