For me it's would Felwood from WoW I really love the aesthetic the kind feeling of knowing this place is supposed to be over but it's alive and thriving somehow and quests there are really good so it's my one of my favorites Area in the video game.
And the great real life examples [Chernobyl] which is located in Ukraine and the radtion is still lingering even to this day. I do want to hears the opinion of indigenous people of the land (Ukrainians) thoughts on the region.
