It has been 35 years since the first Arleigh Burke class ship entered service and the replacement hasn't even made it to prototype phase and the Zumwalt still hasn't hasn't had its replacement since the project was shelved during the Obama years, but at least we will get the trump class super battleship with laser guns and AI drones o algo

Also the Zumwalt design team should be crucified for calling a 16k gross ton warship a destroyer instead of a crusier, modern Ticon class crusiers are less than 2/3rd of that and the Washington Naval Treaty states it is 10k MAX tonnage. And since they decided to design a goofy ass 150mm gun without designing the shell to fire it we should cut off their faces so their loved ones can't identify them in the pile of bodies
