If you're being serious, then that basically means the meds are working as intended, and that you probably genuinely need some sort of anti-anxiety medication.

>>3592098But everyone tells me that these are just temporary and it's important to treat the underlying issue (my severe social anxiety )

>>3592134It becomes easier to treat the underlying issue if you're not constantly freaking out. The meds are a tool, not the entire solution.

you have to just be unbothered

Like, I'll be dead serious, I used to need anti-anxiety meds, but being on them helped me to learn to deal with the shit on my own, and I was able to get off of them entirely after a while. You don't want to be dependent on them forever if you can help it, but it's very hard to learn how to handle shit if your brain refuses to let you enter situations where you could learn.

>>3592166>>3592157I've been like this since I was 4 years old. Do you think if I take the Benzos and I do stuff like confront my fears and do crazier stuff on them it will help me come off them? And I'll become more unbothered (after the withdrawal period)
>>3592166I see your point but Benzos are evil

>>3592094 (OP)if you have social anxiety it's because you haven't been bullied enough. you need to be bullied a lot more
â„–3592220[Quote]
>>3592204I will say, there are other anti-anxiety meds out there other than benzos. Benzos are meant for "actively having a panic attack and need to calm down ASAP" situations, not really for long-term use. I would genuinely consider talking to a psychiatrist, and be vocal about your concerns of dependence. Unless you've found one that's a complete hack (rarer than you'd think), they'll take that very seriously when discussing medication options.

>>3592220I gave a fake prescription and I've only been using them for a month on a very low dose except for 2 weeks where I took them strongly and made lots of connections and gained a lot of aura points due to being chill and social. I came off them for a month and I literally felt like I was on the verge of dying, towards the end of the month I felt fine but I was always on the edge when socializing

>>3592264It does sound like you'd benefit from something more mild and long-term in that case. Again, if you can afford it, you should try and find a psychiatrist. Besides just the meds, they can help you with the actual "learning to handle it on your own" bit
