Judging by what I've seen on the internet, America is experiencing their own fall of the Roman Empire right now. And while the process is theoretically reversible, that would require cooperation and thoughtfulness from a huge portion of the population, which is simply not possible. Almost all people are goycattle who just go with the flow and think what they've been told to think. Now I finally understand how the Roman just let the fall happen: the people simply sat tight and didn't think much about anything because nothing ever happens, while the ruling class was comprised of short-sighted greedy old bastards who literally did not care what happens after they die, or at best they only cared about their children, who they presumed would be fine as long as they have money (Spoiler alert: their children and grandchildren were pillaged and slaughtered by Germanic kangs GEG. Gold is no use when there is no army to pay it to). And so one day the local aqueduct broke down and nobody came to fix it. And that's when the local people realized that something was very wrong. But it was too late. By decades.
