in the beginning was God and heaven and from God, emanations were created, these emanations could create their own emanations but 2 was needed to create a new one, like humans. one of the emanations named sophia wanted to create an emanation, but she either didnt have a partner or just wanted to do it alone, for some reason, and by doing it alone she created a corrupt being of a different nature, she called him yaldabaoth, which means born from chaos. ashamed and terrified, she kicked him out of heaven into the chaos. yaldabaoth, not knowing anything higher, thought he was the only god, so he made space, time, and materials, so the whole material world and his own emanations called archons, declaring himself god. when sophia saw what he'd done, she tried to stop him but was captured, and her divine light was stripped from her. yaldabaoth then made humans and breathed that stolen light into them, this is what we call the soul. when humans die, the archons trick the soul into reincarnation, you are then reborn with all of your memories wiped, but you can deny reincarnation btw. i dont think the names and the in depth story of this matters really, who knows the exact details of what happened. the important takeaway from this is that the spirit of humans have a divine origin, we are forced into a fallen world by a lesser god and we are forced into a cycle of reincarnation, we are born, suffer for about 70 years and then die, the cycle will repeat forever unless you deny reincarnation. i forgot to mention that Jesus Christ came here to free us from this cycle
