yes, i think it probably is the color scheme combined with the layout. i've noticed the same thing happen to me while using 4cuck - but i don't know how much of that was the way the site looked, and how much of it was me getting frustrated with constantly navigating through bait and spam. i have simply learned to ignore it over time. changing the theme to yotsoyba B will probably soothe your eyes. also are you in a dark room? get a salt lamp with an incandescent bulb

As someone who's sold salt lamps (assuming you mean Himalayan salt lamps), the only thing they might do for him is provide a less harsh source of light. The salt doesn't do jackshit in itself except make a fucking mess in high humidity
