I had big dreams about buying my first car, but I ended up getting coerced by my parents into buying a 2009 Toyota Corolla.

 â„–3422694[Quote]

How much? Better to be not in debt.

 â„–3422698[Quote]

even doe that car looks cool

 â„–3422701[Quote]

>>3422694
All in was $6300 USD eq

 â„–3422706[Quote]

And it has 102k miles

 â„–3422708[Quote]

>>3422701
are you american?

 â„–3422709[Quote]

>>3422708
No, I'm Canadian. It was $8900 CAD

 â„–3422712[Quote]

What was your dream first car then? This isn't bad.

 â„–3422714[Quote]

>>3422701
Not bad for the most part I'd say, still kinda pricey for 2009 shitbox…. At least you don't have to pay a car note now.

 â„–3422715[Quote]

>>3422709
ive seen the used car prices for canada, seems like a decent deal to me

 â„–3422718[Quote]

The wood trim is nice and it has push button start among other options which is very rare on a 2009 Corolla, apparently these things only exist on 09 Corollas built in Canada. It has a sunroof and power locks, windows, and mirrors but still it's a boring choice

 â„–3422727[Quote]

>>3422712
Eh well tbh I wanted a hybrid cause I bought it during the peak Hormuz tensions and I felt like a gas car would bankrupt me. Gas price is still dogshit though

 â„–3422730[Quote]

>>3422727
get this soyboy beta cuck OUT OF HERE!

 â„–3422734[Quote]

Its better than a lot of new cars, I despise any smart features. A huge tablet is way more distracting and hard to use than physical buttons. If you need a satnav you can have google maps on loudspeaker.

>>3422727
Idk about these car models but would it not have been possible to get a diesel? I swear you can use diesel/bioethanol mixes that are cheap.

 â„–3422738[Quote]

>>3422734
diesel cars are the most rational option in a collapse

>Homosexuality is a fucking sin
<Wearing clothing of the opposite sex is a Sin.
You're all living in a world of madness
>God cursed Ham's son Canaan Black (The black race)
He then said that Ham's offspring's would be servants to the children of Shem and Japheth (Whites and Browns)
I personally don't want a slave so send blacks back to Africa
But you live in a world of madness. they are destroying Whites and sometimes Brown people and being a straight male seems like a crime now
I even see some of you Nazi faggoted incels on here (another failed group of nonsense) show your openly gay behavior.
You think it's OK to be a Nazi and a Homosexual?
Much of Hitlers SS Officers were known to have faggot parties on boats. Gay orgies on yachts so that no one would see them in public

This is all documented. Also everyone is now pushing the Socialist movement. pure commie bs. you want money shared to you equally without the equal workload? get back into the closet you commie faggots

 â„–3422744[Quote]

>>3422739
what kind of car is this

 â„–3422745[Quote]

lol wrong thread
my bad. I had two windows open

hey, dont buy a used car. like ever. Lease a new car. you just put down 3500 and its like 300 a month. get a Honda they're decent cars

 â„–3422754[Quote]

>>3422734
Diesel cars are rare here and diesel price is also bad. Flex fuel is equally rare and you have to go to only certain gas stations. Costco gas is all I can really do to minimize costs. I actually like having a screen in the car cause the ai voice navigation is ass and can be confusing. I bought a cheap one off Alibaba and it works super fucking well, for half of what I'd pay on amazon. It's not a tablet though, the size is more comparable to a phone. It's pretty handy honestly, and using a phone mount is inconvenient cause it uses phone battery and it's another thing I have to remember to take/put every time I get going

 â„–3422764[Quote]

>>3422745
Well, I already bought it, but I think leasing is a scam. I pay $20,000 to drive a new car for 4 years, and I don't keep it or get to sell it after. With that $20,000, id rather buy or finance on a car just 4-6 years older and use it/mod it how I like and then choose to keep it for longer or sell it for $12000 after 4 years

 â„–3422766[Quote]

>>3422745
even doe lease is jewish or something

 â„–3422784[Quote]

>>3422764
selling it is a pain in the ass.
because leasing is about half the payments and selling it to carvana you would be lucky to get 1/3rd of the value
so owning a new car every three years for 300 a month (plus initial 3500 down?)
its just nice to lease. every three years you have a brand new fucking car to show off.
if you're willing to pay 500 a month on a lease you can get a low end BMW or Lexus but its still a luxury car. or even a big pickup truck.
every 3 years. owning a used car is cringe.

 â„–3422787[Quote]

>>3422738
My theory is that this is why they tax them so much

>>3422754
You can practically mix it yourself, add some pure ethanol and it works. Look up the way diesel engines work if you don't know. They can't use a spark to ignite fuel like gasoline/petrol cars due to diesel having a much higher flash point, so the engine compresses the fuel to force a much higher temperature with pressure. Diesel has a really long carbon chain and high flashpoint, so if it can burn, you can put nearly any type of flammable liquid or hydrocarbon in there, it just might require some engine maintenance if it is something like cooking oils that might leave residue.

<SNCA rant

 â„–3422790[Quote]

>>3422764
also your math is off. over 3 years not 4 is about 10k not 20k

 â„–3422798[Quote]

>>3422784
Do not listen, this nigga is Klaus Schwab
<Renting is so much better goyim
>You Vill own nothing und be happy

You can make a car last way longer than 4 years, and its worth learning how to do some maintenance too.

 â„–3422802[Quote]

>>3422784
>>3422790
Still retarded. You're just renting a car and bonding yourself to a contract, it's a money sink, and the financial outcome of buying used is still far better. My philosophy states that if you can't afford it, don't get it. Only buy what you can pay for immediately.

 â„–3422808[Quote]

>>3422787
Flex fuel might be nice but eh, it's my first car, so the whole point was to not be too outlandish or experimental, that's why they wanted me to (and I begrudgingly agreed to) buy a Corolla. I've heard horror stories of people fueling their diesel engines with goyslop oil and end up paying thousands after their engine starts knocking.

 â„–3422809[Quote]

good luck with owning something that becomes a money pit.
unless you're good as a mechanic?
you will be watching a car rust itself out. just looking at the photos of it. 2009? its almost 20 years old now
I have owned 5 cars already outright, sold them for a loss and bought another new car and realized, I'm spoiking myself and selling it every 3-4 years so why not lease it.
But Its brand new. I didn't have to sell it for a lease. I found it made more sense.
its nothing to do with "You will own nothing". That's wrong because I have the option to own or not own and not have some Communist tier think tank telling me what to do with my life. Its my choice
if you want to own and think in your head You're winning then do so. It's not a house. It isn't going to be yours your entire life. The average car is owned for about 10 years maybe 12. it becomes a money pit after that. you will be blowing as much money fixing it as buying 2 cars

 â„–3422818[Quote]

>>3422809
Perhaps your argument works if the only cars you're buying are American engoyneering waste

 â„–3422819[Quote]

>>3422809
If you were buying new and selling after 4 years you were definitely missing out, you could have used it for probably at least another 4 years without much issue.

I guess if you're into having a shiny new car its your money, spend it the way you like.

 â„–3422850[Quote]

that's how I look at it.
having something that stays modern.
ridding it and getting the next iteration of it or trying out a different new car
owning a house I can understand. but owning a car as expensive as they become to maintain is another.
they're built in such a way that computers malfunction it's 5k right there. if you come to own an EV. the batteries only last 8 years on average and they cost 10-20k to replace depending on the car.
its fucking insane. and you can't third party "Hot swap" an EV battery without having a license to do so. You have to be certified to remove a battery pack from an EV and replace it out.
My next car is going to be an EV which I am getting next year. Im 2 years into this lease which is a R Type Civic sports hybrids. which is a decent car. I get literally 42mpg in Eco mode and 34mpg in Sports mode.
but Gas is way too expensive now.
