The American Revolution was a failure. The whole point of the revolution was to get rid of the centralizing English government and retain the old system of local government. But in the end the Americans ended up just creating their own strong central government in anyway with the Constitution since turns out having a weak central government in an era of other strong nations is a great way to get raped. What was even the point?

Not necessarily, part of the conflict with the British government was that the colonists wanted to move further west than the British decided they could. But yeah, I doubt America could have done the Louisiana purchase, fought the Mexican-American war, etc. to expand further west under the Articles of Confederation.
