As long as entente leaders aren't retarded and don't force mass offensives on the western front, they can defend for long enough. Morale wise i'm sure something could be done. Since its an alternate history, maybe there are fewer major offensives earlier in the war by france, which mostly didn't do anything other than use up manpower and severely reduce morale. French soldiers were willing to keep fighting, just not willing to die in a useless offensive, the mutiny was to guarantee that no pointless offensives would be done.
