I think that the few issues that should be handled via a direct vote, like whether or not the war should be declared, could benefit from the more people-oriented sensibilities of women. Women haven't always been left-leaning relative to men. Evidence suggests that women are more inclined to support the status quo/the platform propagated to them by the dominant institutions of the time.
