It also doesn't help that (((they))) love to rewrite the past

The only negative thing I regularly see people point out about living in the past is the lack of modern medicine, which is honestly a fair point. I'm not particularly keen on dying of smallpox or literally shitting my guts out because people are pooping in the drinking water

Completely ignoring that the entirety of society for most of the time was actively working to improve quaality of life, people trusted one another more than I can even imagine, and governments were actually mostly competent.
I always get kinda sad hearing about my parents childhood, and how they played in the woods and in the streets with neighbours. I was born this side of the millenium, never experienced that, and cannot even imagine it. I wonder if we will ever return to such times. Of course the past centuries were worse times to live in overall, but the human spirit was a lot healthier then than it is now.

Honestly only the infant mortality and worker regulations would be bad, also maybe the lack of exotic products like sugar or bananas

>>3331294The fucked-up thing is that crime rates back then were actually worse, it's just that the modern omnipresence of the news has amplified everything and made it all sound so much worse than it is, so people are paranoid.

My parents "believe" crime rates dropped, but would never ever ever ever let me go out alone as a caca until I reached the age of like 14 o algo. It wouldn't matter even if I did go out alone, as all my neighbours are boomers, I think there are maybe 3-5 people similar to me in age, of which 2-4 are jeets.

>>3331366In fairness, if your neighbors were all boomers, they would actually be the ones to worry about. They were the lead gasoline generation where crime rates peaked geg
