Filosofem is good but all of the people who put it in their charts are posers who are also gay.
Ulver's only good album is Nattens Madrigal everything before and after that is gay.
Agalloch is overrated. And gay.
Mgla hasn't made a good album since 2012. Exercises in futility is overrated… and gay.
Everything on this chart is pretty self explanatory TeeBeeHaych.
Never listen to anything that starts with post or ends with gaze or core.

>Ulver's only good album is Nattens Madrigal everything before and after that is gay.i like bergtatt and ik its barely black metal but its still a good album
>Agalloch is overrated. And gay.they're a good gateway band into extreme metal and for that i respect them
>Never listen to anything that starts with post or ends with gaze or core.L take, blackgaze and metalcore (early metalcore specifically) are gemmy

>>144005>gateway bandI hate the idea of "gateway bands" and easing people into genres in general. The first metal album that I ever heard was Filosofem and I immediately liked it. Before that I hated music in general. If you don't immediately like something you should just look somewhere else instead of trying to mold your taste. Maybe I could end up liking something like 100 Gecs if I raped my ears and mind with enough repeated listens, but what is the point? I would rather stick to things I already like. And closed-mindedness is pillar of real black metal not that hipster fusion nonsense.
>blackgazeBlack Gays… Gay Niggers. I don't dislike Tristesse Hivernale but that is the only Alcest album I have a nonnegative opinion of. Neige is a fag for "switching up on his nigga" (as the groids say) from Peste Noire. Also Deafheaven deserves all the hate.

>Also Deafheaven deserves all the hate.i was always confused as to why they're hated so much since i wouldn't even say they're THAT accessible, ive listened to some pure black metal albums that i would consider an easier listening experience just because of how much of a banshee george clarke is

>>144002>Never listen to anything that starts with post or ends with gaze or core.I think the overutilization of meaningless genres that doesn't mean anything now (e.g Post-rock and Post-punk) kinda runs it to the ground and it's just used as a buzzword for normgroids even though there's some gemmy albums in these genres

>>144010>eh idk if i agree with that, some of my favorite albums were ones i didn't really get on the first listenI have gone from being indifferent to an album to liking it but I have never gone from actively disliking an album to liking it. For example I wasn't really paying attention and used to think the early Clandestine Blaze albums were boring but now I like them. But that is different an album having elements I actually dislike; for example, I will never like Alcest albums or nu-metal because those albums have elements that actively annoy me when I hear them.
>deafheavenThe Deafheaven vocals remind me more of gay and angsty emo than black metal doe. He could be complaining about how his girlfriend broke up with him. Some of the only high-pitched BM vocals I have heard that are goofier than that are from Nattramn from Silencer which sound like Tom and Jerry screaming and Silencer is an shitty band and DSBM is an overrated genre. Also I think the Deafheaven hate stems from them being outsiders and not ideologically aligned with black metal as a genre equally as much as it does from their upbeat music and aesthetics.

yk blackgaze is pretty good (them and alcest are quite gemmy) but they are not metal. shoegaze, yes. metal, absolutely not.

Just learn how to play "Mr. Bungle - Mr. Nice guy" Riff, I like how it makes my fingers get tangled up, since itโs really unusual.
So, metal dudes, can you recommend a solo/riff that I could learn? one that would break fingers

Nedgravd's "Ascension" is a solid release this year, i'd suggest you give it a try if you haven't. It's OSDM (old school death metal) from Norway that is quite technical but also has a good bit of rawness to it, the guitars are somewhat distorted similar to what they do in BM releases that makes it quite atmospheric, but at times it's also simultaneously aggressive and brutal somehow because of the way that it's composed.
excluding the instrumental filler tracks of the album, all of the tracks are 6-8 mins long. it's often described to be "Infester worship", but i also do hear about them being compared to Incantation.
they're pretty much in the same vein as those evil-coded 90s OSDM bands like Infester (see: "To The Depths, In Degradation") or Imprecation (see: "Theurgia Goetia Summa" (compilation)), Suffocation, Immolation and Incantation. but unlike them, this is a release from 2026, literally 3 decades after Infester. if you haven't heard of any of the bands i just mentioned, i would suggest you try them first and then try "Ascension".
"Severed Gate Shroud" is probably the most aggressive track on the album, whilst "Sentiential Incantation" is probably the most evil track. "Qhurra" is my personal favorite DOE. "Paragon of Impiety" is also solid.
<
this is a solid 9/10 album if not for a 10 for me.
if you're going to try a new album from this year, i would would highly recommend this one.

there was a splitup that happened between the band somewhere around 2017 or 2019 where the lead singer (Bart) who apparently owned the label of Batushka just sold it to Metal Blade Records presumably because of $$$. But that was contested by another band member (Drabikowski) who claimed that he owned it because he is the sovl of the band or something.
i heard that Bart wanted to make an album more quickly and reap the success of another album.
so in 2019 there was "two" Batushkas, one which was owned by metal blade and the other having releases over YT, i think . the releases via Metal Blade were bad and sold badly in contrast to the sovlfvl release by Drab which was actually good.
wyattxhim recounts a rumor whereby it's alleged that the Metal Blade Batushka just delayed orders and in the end just sent rubbish to those whom ordered the Litourgiya stuff bc their album was doing so fucking bad. they're no Bart's "Batushka" is no more now, and Drab fucking vvon AFAIK.
<>On May 29, 2024, the Polish courts ruled in favor of Krzysztof Drabikowski (in a first ruling instance), preventing Bartลomiej Krysiuk from using either the names "Batushka" or "ะะะขะฎะจะะ" without the authorization of Drabikowski.[29] On June 6, 2024, Drabikowski published a redacted version of the ruling on his social networks while thanking his fans.[30] The same day Krysiuk, through the social networks of his version of Batushka, released a statement in which he was disappointed by the ruling. He has decided to appeal it and continue with his previous tour commitments until a final verdict is reached.[31]>Shortly after March 2024, Krysiuk's band announced a new series of concerts. Those shows have been promoted as the "last shows of Batushka ever".[32][33]i've heard that people have moved past whatever happened here or something.
