I think that the Sex Pistols are crappish/overglazed, at least in comparison to PiL. PiL is the real height of John Lydon's works.

It is definitely a real fact of this reality that USUALLY a band's first album is their best bcuz of them having more energy, the albums made when band are geezers being lesser works = less mojo. 80s metallica > current met., black sabbath > ozzy's latest, the cure boys dont cry > songs of lost world etc.

The average expectaction a person has of a band is spectrum running from one hit wonder all the way to something like rob zombie, the quality deteroriating/tapering off at a really really slow pace. John Lydonds career would look like /^\ a case that is rare or at least messes with the ram chip, the expectations, the framework of thinking of a normal person somewhat.

PiL as a project actually has effort put in & more creatvity. The only one yellow sex pistols album has the same background rambly repeateed guitar chords with alternating gross attention-seeking pro-abortion screaming lyrics and calling the queen a fascist for some retard reason. PIL doesn't drone-on repetitively & yellingly like sex pistols because Pil's albums definitely were written a real episode of mania of new ideas falling into the bands heads, too fast to operate with, too many ideas short time.

Even the tracklist and themes of nevermind the bollocks smells a bit manufactured or company-invented but I'm not sure.

I am giving too much thought to the artworks which no-one gives a shit about because people come for the music of music (audio) but hear me out

PIL cd cases = creative artwork, stylishness, actual logo for the band even looks like a stylish pill, , the metal box being a metal box, also the iconic album/casette/record literally called "Album" "Casette" "Record". My dad's friend in school had a Poster with Poster written on it. "Mp3" on the mp3 dnload file cover, T-Shirts with T-shirt written on them, "Tickets" written on the concert tickets. E.g. the 9 album cover alone could make a interesting bookmark's repeating pattern (I may be glazing Album too much. My favourite pil album is Happy??)

Sex pistols = "look at this band name how risque", "look at the bright yellow-black cover how bright", "how bold to call everything else in existance bollocks" "how risque", "jee wizz they said kill the queen omg"… you get it they are pure attention seeking. The sex pistols n.m.t.b. cover art is the kind of shit an indian hr lady would have as a bumper sticker to attain elusive non-existant shock value.

None of the bands listed above are actually an active cancer or bad mind you. I really only listen to my dad's collection of 3800 albums, flipping through the collection as I please for when music is needed : John lydon totals not even 1% of entries.

I will end here on an unrelated note, by saying that I don't obsess over Stoner Rock as much as my dad, but Stoner Rock is too undderground unappreacieted for too long and needs its day in the sun.
