Xavier Renegade Angel is a nice exception and is my personal favorite, I'm in the same boat as you, The Simpsons is a bit overrated in my opinon, Family Guy is good for the first three seasons but is to derivative of pop culture for my liking, South Park is another one that is overrated and which I find hard to watch (due to the protagonists being minors and the show involving sexual humor). Drawn Together is the only edgy adult animated sitcom I enjoy, but even then, it relies to much on pop culture references
