271 thousandth person to ask this on the internxt but how do you actually learn a language? Id imagine broadly it’s the same pattern for any language (tho stuff not using the latinx alphabet probably involves learning that first)

The one’s that I’ve considered ever trying (id only lock in on one ofc, to maximise success):
<Reddit gay meme space
-French (I speak English (Traditional) so I figure it would be easiest
-Japanese (Oh my TRANIME)

Either start with French, Latin or German. Large amounts of shared vocabulary with English that have an absurd amount of rich and amazing literature that you can only properly appreciate in the native tounge.

I am not a linguist or pedagog so I can't give any more advice than to immerse yourself wholly in the language during the day when you're not directly studying it. Listen to it's music, try to read a work you'd like to be able to read with a dictionary at hand, writing down interesting new words. Watch your favorite movies/series, either in english subbed with the other language or in any other combination of sub+dub.

Other than that just do more research on the web for good resources. There are probably a thrembillion language forums discussing this exact type of stuff with more deph.

Since you speak English (fluently) I actually suggest you should learn another Germanic language, like German, Norwegian or Dutch, which from my experience, was easier to learn then French. If you still want to learn French, please learn the phonetics of the language, for this the FSI phonetics course is (apparently) quite good for this, although it is dull so be warned

>How do you learn another language?
1. Study the phonetics and the grammar, do exercises from textbooks to make the knowledge stay
2. Read. Just read. That's the only way to get to know a lot of words - read, read, read, and look up every word you don't know. Obviously start with something easy like children's books, wikipedia articles, xitter posts. Then you can start reading actual books and watching jewtube videos in target language. Medieval dudes used to just read the bible in a foreign language multiple times over until they'll have memorized the meanings of all of the words.

signing up to a course might be the best way to go about it. Learning things like pronounciation, and practising speaking is a lot easier if you have a native speaker correcting you and helping you.
I speak 3 languages since i was a caca so i never really struggled, but i found spanish to be easier than german. Might be because i already know french though.
use textbooks, online ones with listening exercises can be helpful.

First of all, start with the language you actually like and would be motivated to learn, since it's not an easy process. Then, try learning the alphabet, and there are two ways you can go about this next one step but you could either just get a textbook or if you're lazy (like me), just get some flashcards on anki for the most common 2000 words, and read childrens book. You'll start to get better and be able to read more, but it's very important that you practice speaking with other people, it helps a lot

Have a routine, I recently started learning/studying French and this is the routine I use:
<Nigger
-Repeating the alphabet x2-3
-Studying Grammar (i.e. Articles, Pronouns, Verbs)
-Studying Functions (i.e. Expressing preferences, greetings, negating)
-Complete Grammar Drills
-Listen to audio of the language spoken (jewtube)[for xyz minutes]
-Read a book/text (I recommend Wikipedia,Internet Archive)[read xyz paragraphs/pages]
-Write xyz sentences/paragraphs
-Practice speaking
<Nigger
There's also the FSI courses which are free to download, and contain audios along with a script to practice
<Nigger
Resources:
-Modern French Grammar A Practical Guide by Isabelle Perez & Margaret Lang (link to pdf: https://bonjourmoni.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/modern-french-grammar-a-practical-guide.pdf)
-French Grammar Drills by McGraw Hill (link to pdf: https://ddotb.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/french-grammar-drills.pdf)

To practice the language you can also sign up for an online pen pal which is free, to motivate self, focus on a dialect (I want to learn the Quebec and Belgian dialect), best of luck to you

i learnt russian from duolingo, just find something better to learn off of that actually gets you into conversations, i was able to read cyrillic and pronounce words within a month and later be able to call russians faggots and non-white while playing games with them

just memorize stuff and do it again and again and it will come to you naturally
