Game of Thrones had already suffered a sharp decline in quality during season 5, and by the end of season 6 it completely turned into the fantasy equivalent of marvel slop with all that follows: retarded dialogue, shitty plot lines, characters making decisions that make no sense, braindead moments that only serve the purpose of impressing double digit iq people, and all the main cast having ridiculous plot armor. In the books you can never be fully sure the POV character survives the end of the chapter, meanwhile in the later seasons of the show you have Arya surviving multiple deep stab wounds to her lungs and heart area, and Jon rushing into an enemy cavalry charge alone and somehow walking out completely unscathed. But normgroids only noticed the decline when the show completely fell apart in season 8. You can really feed them any shit as long as it's baaaarely digestible.

Reminds me of how goycattle praise the bank robbery scene in the Dark Knight calling it genius even though Joker's plan is actually the exact opposite of that. It's so convoluted and unnecessarily complex and depends on so many people and so many circumstances, there are so many things that can go wrong and autofail the entire robbery at any point in time. If you tried something like that IRL you'd have like a 5% chance to actually succeed. But they are too retarded to understand that, they think that the plan is genius because of how complicated it is.
