you need special model paints and brushes, even cheap ones are fine, regular acrylics and brushes (except if you are painting a large area) are not good
there are lots of tutorials online

If its a model of something real then I don't see why it would be troonish. It takes time to research the accurate paint work and then apply it, and troons never like to spend time doing anything other than complaining online.
