It's a joke about corporations that run America. It is told from a Marxist perspective. Chuck's was formerly a local store that got run out by the Sneed's corporation. The Sneed's have stores on every block. The Simpsons was trying to say that if we don't act all the local businesses will be overrun by careless corporations.
