>>9014572plot synopsis: our protagonist is a 15-16 year old child prodigy. the movie begins with him biking home from high school (with the opening credits being shown and this song playing). he gets home and, ignoring his mother saying something to him (it doesn't really matter what), he climbs up to the attic where his gaming setup is to set off an extremely poorly researched coding montage. he's making an mmorpg which is like really good or something. anyways after sleeping in his oddly extremely cozy looking pillow and blanket stuffed hammock also in the attic (he says something later about being "closer to my gaming setup") he goes to school after taking maybe 2 bites of his extremely extravagantly prepared breakfast because he's late for class. he sits down in his chair next to the comic relief best friend. while the teacher teaches something coincidentally related to the main plot of the movie ("boooooring" says the comic relief friend) he admires his crush who is sitting near the front of the class. after an inconsequential lunch scene that's just there to have the comic relief friend say something to put in the trailer, the protag brings him along to show him the game. after another poorly researched coding montage and some wisecracks from mr. comic relief the game is finished. he presses a giant tacky upload button and practically falls into his hammock, exhausted. comic relief friend says goodbye and leaves. our hero wakes up to his mom bringing him a breakfast tray (which they have for some reason) full of eggs, toast, and bacon. they have a conversation about his game while, on his computer, the player counts skyrocket to amounts that are definitely impossible for this teenage indie developer's servers and very improbable for anything other than a AAA game. after finishing his breakfast, he gets to his computer and notices it. he gasps and some "the amazing spiderman"-esque music plays. somehow the government contacts him because they're having trouble with some kind of external force (aliens or like an evil robot ai) and they need his elite prodigy coding skills. he ropes comic relief friend and his crush is somehow related so she comes too. the rest of the movie is them creating some kind of program to defeat the enemy, all three of them spouting one-liners and pop culture references constantly. the climax is oddly anticlimactic, the day is
