GREETINGS, /QA/ DENIZENS! I AM HANS AMSLER, THE ILLUSTRIOUS BAVARIAN AUTHOR OF THE A24, CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED, OSCAR-AWARD WINNING, GENRE REDEFINING ADVENTURE THREAD, SAVE THE BULL!

That's exactly right! But it doesn't matter who I am, what matters is my plan.
<reddit space
You see, I've been publishing a comic book for a number of years now called The Cheesed To Meet You Mouse. Yes, publishing a physical booklet, going out to about 200 people. I get paid roughly 400 dollars per chapter, which is pretty decent if I do say so myself. There's stickers, too!
<reddit space
Anyway, the comic is about the aforementioned mouse who is cheesed to meet you, and he runs a braphog ranch and likes to rape. I created him in 2020 before I even knew about the Sharty and before Rapeson existed, so he was kind of like Rapeson before Rapeson.
<reddit space
HOWEVER, this year I was so engrossed in running Save The Bull that I put off finishing up the year's comic volume to the last second, and now I'm rushing to get everything done. Truthfully, I don't know whether I've already exceeded my publisher's deadline ("mid november at the latest", whatever that means) so I may be pulling all nighters working on this for no reason.
<reddit space
IN ANY CASE, you niggers are going to bear witness to the fruits of my ridiculous perfectionism and procrastination, for in this thread I'm going to be posting my work as I complete it. This may convince you to buy my retarded little comic when it comes out, it may not. That's not my aim. My aim is merely to share my suffering with you as I slog through this.

This additionally functions as an AMA, if you have any burning questions for a SNCA artfag. I'll also sketch things on request.

Right now I'm working on finishing the lineart for the back cover for the christmas comic (I'm going to be dual releasing Cheesed To Meet You Visits Japan and the christmas specials). I'm going to be painting both it and the Japan cover in watercolor afterwards. I would have preferred oil paint for the Christmas back cover like in the Christmas front cover in the OP, but unfortunately that would take far too long.

Oh, also, while I'm working on painting the cover:
Here's the stickers from the last Cheesed To Meet You issue. They are VERY edgy, and most are not the sort of thing you'd have on say, your laptop, but my idea was that they could be used for an Operation Reality sort of thing where you stick them on lampposts, buildings, ect.
Of course, since most of my readerbase has been millenialcucks, they sadly did not do that. It would be extremely gemmy if you guys did that with the stickers I'll be making for this issue though
Also, here's a picture of what the first issue looked like in its published form.

>>833208I browse Crystal.cafe and lolcow.farm with a vibrator in my ass while GOONING. I enter threads about any topic at all - crocheting, husbandos, hornyposting, advice, horoscopes, I GOON to it. The topic doesn't matter. What matter is the real HUMAN connection, to a real life WOMAN, behind the screen. I find a certain glee in knowing that with every stroke of my greasy pungent cock the foid on the other end is enjoying her little feminist board, blissfully unaware that I'm shaking in wretched pleasure to her. I wonder how she'd feel? If she could see me like this, if I could force a vision of myself in my current state into her brain, her watching me GOON my aching prostate and spew my seed onto an innocuous photo she posted of the Percy Jackson book she just bought which just happened to contain her oh-so-delectable supple hands. In terms of cum tributes, my favorite subject would have to be the drawings from the 'draw yourself' threads. For each one of those threads, I print out a handful of about 8 of the cutes 'fe sweetheart' self-portraits and make it my mission every day to cum at least once on each. It's those little goals that you set for yourself daily that make life really enjoyable. I consider it a sort of magic, a la voodoo or Law of Attraction.. I like to think that at some point after I've done my deed, the girl will feel a faint sinking disgust, a stifling cold sweat that she can't explain, and think of me. I make my own messages in these boards, too. They're quickly deleted, of course: They reply "Moid!" "Creep!" "Incel!" "Loser!". Every one of these insults only serve to make my erection harder. This passionate attention from my lovely 'fe goddesses simply makes my dick diamond. Every time I'm banned, I punish myself by ratcheting my ass-vibrator to the highest setting for the rest of the day. I curl up into a ball, moaning and crying, imagining that my lovely GODDESSES are above me clad in leather, whipping me for being such a naughty boy, and for being a filthy MOID PIG. I want to savor every last bit of their impotent rage, knowing that I've violated them and there's nothing they can do about it. Knowing that my very loathsome corrupting presence has completely RUINED their beloved TERF board. Even if one of my precious cafe babes gets a boyfriend, as many of them have, they will always feel a knot in their stomach when they realize that I'm GOONING to their posts every day, and their poor boyfriend is getting metaphysically cucked by a fat sweaty loser. And I do mean every day - I don't forget a single one of my goddesses. I have detailed files which i have written one-handed about the posting habits and defining features of over 30 women, and I track their new posts regularly. I make sure I at least cum to one of their posts every week. It's a tough thing to keep up, but I wouldn't want any one of them to get jealous of the other. My darlings loathe and fear me, but they will learn to love me one day. I love you, Crystal.cafe babes! I LOVE YOU!

I get what you mean doe. Especially with the deeper tones, there's some dark tones you just can't achieve with HB. I usually cheese this by playing with the contrast when I scan things in, but when I need to present a piece IRL i am unfortunately FORCED to use darker pencils.

>>837504Simply put: Life drawing, life drawing and more life drawing!
What I mean is that the best way to improve at art, especially for a beginner, is to draw things from real life: household objects, plants, animals, rooms, landscapes, ect. NOT PHOTOGRAPHS! REAL LIFE! Just set the object in front of you and start drawing it to the best of your ability. I've drawn an example just for you in the first picrel, of a lemon from my kitchen.
When you are doing this, the most important thing is to GET THE PROPORTIONS RIGHT! The best way I've found to do this is take any small object with clearly discernible sections (such as your finger) and mark out how long a part of the object is with (your finger). Draw that part of the object, then use your finger to mark out how long other parts of the object are in comparison to the part you measured. This will give you a good enough approximation of the object's proportions. Do this as diligently as you possibly can! I can't stress enough how important this is. I've made a little diagram for you.
Take careful note of the micro-variations in brightness and darkness, as well as the object's shape, and try to put them down to paper as accurately as possible. You're not going to get it completely right on the first go, but what matters is that you keep trying as hard as you can to get it absolutely accurate. You'll get the hang of it eventually.
All this conditions your mind to look at objects not as you imagine them to be, but how they actually appear - how the raw visual information hits your eyes. This is crucial for drawing well, and it's the foundation for all other drawing.
Many faggot trannies will say "DURRRRR REALISM SUCKS I DON'T NEED TO KNOW REALISM TO DRAW!!!" But you do. Cartooning, and any other form of stylization, is the distillation of features which exist in real life into compact, simplified versions of themselves which still retain their most essential components. This can in fact be said to be one of the main parts of making good art - simplifying features from real life into what is absolutely necessary to convey the aesthetic you want to depict.
If you are able to draw realistically well, you can draw in any style. If you only mimic what you see in cartoons without learning to draw realistically, you are essentially a monkey aping things without knowing how they work, and you will only ever be able to draw in your own subpar little "style" and barely improve. Suffice to say, realistic life drawing is the foundation of all other art styles.
And if you won't take my word for it, take the word of Richard Williams; arguably one of the best animators of all time. Here's what he has to say about it.
There is only so much that I can explain in one post, but I hope that this will give you a good groundwork for starting out. Have fun! (it's grueling and painful)
β837536[Quote]
>>837535I would like to add that drawing from photographs isn't always bad, it's just not ideal to do that as a beginner because you won't get as much of a feel for conditioning your eyes, as well as picking out details. It's better to study from photographs only after you've had a foundation in drawing directly from life.
β837538[Quote]
>>837535Thank you for all the great advice and I really appreciate the examples. I wont have a whole lot of time tomorrow given the fact that its thanksgiving but I will take this for a spin when I'm able to. Have a good day.

β837546[Quote]
Also how much does it take you to finish 1 page for a comic?
β837550[Quote]
>>837546>how muchholy ESLrald
But if you're asking how long, it depends entirely both on the complexity of the page and how lazy/perfectionist I am. Could take really long, could take really short. For most of today I've been procrastinating and 'jakking instead of working on the comic geg. I really shouldn't be doing that with how little time I have.
But I guess usually about an hour or two if I'm actually being diligent and undistracted?
β837551[Quote]
>>837550also I'm specifically talking about coloring there. Detailing the pages can take considerably longer since what I'm doing with Cheesed To Meet Yo taking some very sloppy work I made as a joke comic to show a buddy of mine and trying to flesh it out into something presentable. It would probably be easier if I just redrew it all, but then it would lose its manic charm.

Actually, fun fact: the reason I started Save The Bull in the first place was that there was a thread on /soy/ about how the Sharty should make its own homestuck but with soyjaks that got a lot of reppeys
And I went "hey I could do that" and so I did
β841631[Quote]

β841632[Quote]
>>841631Mind you, I haven't actually read very much of Homestuck, and I feel it best to keep it that way for as long as I'm running Save The Bull. I don't want it to be a homestuck clone, I want it to be its own thing, and if I read Homestuck I feel it would end up resembling Homestuck too much.
Without having read much of homestuck, I'm free to tackle the storytelling and art in my own way without being influenced by precedent.
As Orson Welles once said:
"Iβm just in love with making movies. Iβm not very fond of movies; I donβt go to them much. I think itβs very harmful for movie makers to see movies because you either imitate them or worry about not imitating them. You should make movies innocently, the way Adam named the animals on the first day in the garden."
That's the approach I like to take when it comes to art.
