HDDs actually have physical disks that need to be spun up to be used, so that spinup time actually contributes to load times and data access rates. Plus, they're susceptible to impacts while running because of the high RPMs. SSDs are basically flash drives on fucking steroids. A PC that takes 30+ seconds to boot up on an HDD can boot up in less than 1 on an SSD. There are other differences but the main one that most people care about is that SSD = very fast

Like, part of the reason Helldivers 2 had weird performance issues and absolutely massive patch sizes for a long while was because they were still trying to account for people using HDDs for gaming. Any game that actually ran directly off a physical disc in the first place isn't going to be affected by that sort of thing as much because it was designed to run that way from the get-go.
