It's interesting how Indians are way more hated than Africans and MENA people despite the violent crimes and terrorism. Indian migrants often have desk jobs or have an important contribution to the economy through the labour force, while Africans and MENA diaspora are usually just refugees.

Up until the past decade, Indians seem to have been depicted more respectfully compared to other ethnicities in the West. I remember in most shows from the 90s and 2000s Indians were stereotyped as being A+ STEM students and having jobs in tech or medicine. Even if they weren't, they were still depicted as humble, hard-working people like Apu.
