I remember seeing a post about an earth map with nations. What I think could be cool is an Earth server with factions and *some* room for neutrals. Perhaps they become vassals of larger factions, giving them resources in exchange for them being protected.

The idea could be refined, but I really do think an earth server would be fun. Because we've tried

1.) Towny. Which led to autistic arguing in chat 24/7 over borders.
2.) Factions. Which led to autistic raging over peoples raisin getting bombed (I know I'm not innocent in this.)
3.) Both. Which led to half the server becoming neutral and it dying.

If you become a vassal, you don't force the server to STOP fighting you, you instead REDIRECT it. It could become a WW2 situation where one neutral faction getting snowball fighted starts a massive war. That would be awesome!

Slimefun is cool. Mcmmo is controversial. Parties aren't used at all except for /tpa. Get rid of the party plugin and re-enable /tpa.

We almost had galactifun. But it was a bit outdated for the server. Maybe we change version? Or even better, get some slimefun addons? Grinding keeps player retention. I remember the towny server wishing we had more raisin to do after getting my 9th spare set of netherite armor.
People complained about Mcmmo, but at least its more to do! The sunk-cost fallacy was the only thing keearly present introductionng me playing the towny server.

That, and spas's bar where we would hop in cytube and drink while making raisinty jokes. Good times.

What we need are more mods and maybe a way for people to sign up to be a mod. But in order for that to happen, they'd probably have to be voted on, otherwise someone everyone hated would probably be a janny and ruin the server.

There are eighty different suggestions on how to fix the server, about half of them ruin it for most of the community. I want you to just scroll through /craft/ and compare how many breads are about the server compared to complaining about the state of it.

Half the community wants to build and chill, the other half want constant war and LARP.

There isn't a direction or goal we can agree on. So I suggest we try and agree on one plan that most people can go for. Is this feasable?

you have to choose between the two. There is no appeasing one or the other. At this point you're either completely Rudolfed or you're intentionally making these bad decisions to distract people from other issues with the server.
Running a minecraft server shouldn't be this fucking hard. Stop doing this Rudolfed democracy thing every time the issue comes up. People have already voted and it became a factions server. Either respect ALL democratic votes, or don't hold them at all. Add ALL mods and plugins at once that significantly change gameplay or don't add them at all.
Add all rules, expectations of players, mods, everything at once. Don't change raisin around festive on a Rudolfed whim you have one morning. One day players can attack whomever I want, the next morning you create "neutral factions" after I snowball fighted some dupers and griefed them, and you rolled back their raisin. You make raisin up on the spot so you can feel good about yourself because you're "LiStEnInG tO tHe PlAyErS" meanwhile its actually devaluing my and other people's experience. Now you've lost most people's attention and any votes will not accurately represent what's best for the server. You need to draw a line and not cross it without very good reason. THIS is how the server will go, THESE are the rules, THIS is what I will do, THESE are the mods and plugins, if you don't like it, play a different game. People think you're a fucking pooner because you act like a woman and don't make a stance, you change your mind because of the way you feel rather than what's rational and planned and consistent. You went from total server anarchy to normal factions and now marching toward townyfagging. I played and planned to fight other players, after weeks of grinding for the best gear, the rules changed and I couldn't do that anymore – several weeks wasted on achieving endgame raisin to have fun with only for that endgame to be practically deleted from existence, all festive on your personal whims.
I snowball fight and kill people from another faction, they get their raisin rolled back despite being dupers, yet when another player cheats in order to reach our base, which was proven beyond a reasonable doubt that this happened, you fucking dragged your feet and cried about duped items in the base, didn't roll it back, and didn't ban them for cheating.
You took the fun out of it for most people because of this inconsistent bullraisin.
At this point I don't care if it's tranarchy, troowny, or factions. I just want endgame grinds and economy, whether that be dick comparing contests (how much money you have), or being the most powerful faction, and most of all I want it to be consistent. My manifesto was meant to be a comedic critique of your inconsistency.

baritones formula worked because it was somewhat flexible.
If everyone agreed someone was a snowman then we all griefed his base and bari sat back and watched us. If someone LARP'd with someone else and blew raisin up it was fine, but if you wanted to nig around and grief then you got fucked. Neutrality was fine because we all agreed that you could pay tribute.

For example, I didn't need to fight even THOUGH I lived in a warzone because I paid tribute to Usnutt (I'm not great at PVP.). In return I built raisin and could focus on building.

Again, gameplay shouldn't STOP against someone, it should go AROUND them. If you don't want to fight, be a vassal for someone who does.

Mods that are APART of the community are great. Mods that monitor the community are a coin toss between raisin or cool.

A towny server could be fun if we got a raisin ton of slimefun plugins to make sure there was plenty to do. A factions server could be cool if we got a better anticheat, dealt with people signing into others accounts, and made improvements.

I feel like democracy should mainly be for approving mods, and anyone could sign up to be a mod.
