By Using these extreme and evil man made weapons on other humans - it left such a collective emotional/psychic scar on Japanese citizens that these anime/Manga artists born generations after - used this art medium as a means of expression drenched in post apocalyptic war darkness - which does not help lead to any healing and only makes new generations of kids stay locked into a depressed doomsday neurosis versus seeking solutions to the problems humanity faces. Just Another form of unhealthy escapism for the masses. God help us - we need it.
